LAUNCH DAY: More Than a Mountain

More Than a Mountain - a film celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the First Female Ascent of Everest

Many of you will have seen that the focus for my activities this year has been to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first female ascent of Everest.

It’s been quite a year already, launching the First Females podcast, hosting an amazing panel of women at the Hay Festival, radio & tv interviews and now I am so incredibly excited to share with you the trailer for a film that will celebrate the life and legacy of Japanese mountaineer Junko Tabei.

‘More Than a Mountain’ is a documentary film which focuses on this year’s Yala Peak expedition, led by fellow Everest Summiteer Jo Bradshaw, in which we walked in the footsteps of Junko. What began as a trek quickly became a deeper story of connection, courage, and celebration, as an extraordinary group of women came together to honour the pioneering spirit of a woman who has been hidden in history.

This is where I need your help. We are looking for individuals and businesses who would like to support the production of a short film.

By supporting 'More Than a Mountain', you’re helping carry on Junko’s legacy, not only by telling her story, but by championing the same values she lived by: access, representation, and opportunity for all.

If you’ve ever wanted to see your name or company name in the film credits, now you can!

Please head over to our crowdfunding page to make a donation and please do share the link with anyone who you think might also be interested.

Thanks in advance for your support. I hope you like it.
