International Women’s Day 2026 - Do You Know Her Name?

Is your stage set for International Women’s Day 2026?

This IWD, I’ll be asking a simple but powerful question: Do you know her name?

I’ll be sharing my journey of discovery to understand more about a remarkable woman whose achievements have been largely hidden from history.

It’s 50 years since Japanese climber Junko Tabei became the first woman in the world to summit Mount Everest. Yet, surprisingly, few people know her name or her story.

Her legacy invites us to reflect:
Why don’t we know her name?
Who do we celebrate as brave and strong?
What qualities keep us climbing and moving forward?
And what happens when talent is hidden in plain sight?

This talk weaves together history, leadership, and performance. It explores curiosity, resilience, and the power of the outdoors to create genuine human connection in an increasingly hyper-connected world.

If your organisation is marking IWD 2026 and is looking for a speaker who will inspire, challenge, and spark meaningful conversation, I’d love to be involved.
